About us – footballbetsnz

This site follows football betting in New Zealand: how prices relate to chances, what a promotion demands in return, and where the law draws its lines. Bets are not taken here, tips are not sold, and no return is promised, since a bet guaranteed to win does not exist.

What the site does not do

No account can be opened, no stake placed and no “sure” fixture offered. Pages describe; they do not recommend a punt, and a ranking position never signals a licence.

Checking legal status

New Zealand keeps no register of licensed bookmakers, because one provider alone is lawful: from 28 June 2025 TAB NZ is the only business permitted to offer racing and sports betting to people in New Zealand, under its brands TAB and Betcha. The Department of Internal Affairs, the Racing Industry Act 2020 and the Racing Industry Amendment Act 2025 are the sources used. According to the Department, an overseas company offering these bets is breaking the law, and the law is aimed at the operator rather than the punter.

Working with sources

Facts about the provider are taken from its terms, help pages and footers. Legal points rest on statute text and public-body publications. Because odds and offers move quickly, any figure comes with when and where it applied; where sources give out, the matter is described in words and no number is invented.

Intended readers

The material is written for adults in New Zealand, as TAB NZ accepts bets only from 18. It is not legal or tax advice. Someone finding that betting takes more space than intended can approach the Gambling Helpline or Safer Gambling Aotearoa.
